North Point front-slide corner cracks on coaches built before 2021
Years: 2018, 2019, 2020
Jayco standard repair procedure 22-043, published January 2022 and revised February 2022, covers a crack at the front bottom corner of the front slide, on the door side or the off-door side. The affected units it names are North Point, Pinnacle, Eagle, and Eagle HT fifth wheels before model year 2021. On the Jayco Owners Forum, a 2018 North Point owner describes a crack at the lower corner of the bedroom slide that starts at the square corner and runs down at about 45 degrees. A reply on that thread calls it a common issue. A 2018 North Point 377 owner posted a sidewall crack, and a reply says the crack on that pattern is usually at the forward corner of the bedroom slide, closest to the pin box. A 2020 North Point owner describes a stress crack at the lower corner of the bedroom slide. The first repair was paid by Jayco and the crack opened again as soon as the bedroom slide was extended. That thread says Jayco later called the sidewall crack cosmetic, and it also describes frame-weld work and a move from a factory appointment to an authorized repair shop. Another 2020 North Point owner, writing in a separate thread, says the crack was there by March 2020, Jayco replaced the driver-side wall and added bracing, and the crack came back. On an independent forum, a 2020 North Point owner says a crack under the bedroom slide was fixed under warranty, the repair failed, and later cracks, a separating ceiling, and a crooked hitch followed. That is one owner's account of what happened after the repair.
