2025 Grand Design Imagine

Imagine spring hangers tear out of the frame

Owner reportFrame
Symptoms
NHTSA complaint ODI 11769034, filed October 5, 2026, on a 2025 Grand Design Imagine, says the spring hangers separated from the frame. The owner wrote that the trailer leaned to the curb side, the axles bent, and the trailer was untowable. On mygrandrv, thatsnotcamping wrote on August 5, 2025, that the rear-most curb-side leaf-spring hanger on a 2910BH tore out a section of the I-beam and bent the frame above the break. The owner wrote that the trailer was not safe to tow. Grand Design, in that account, asked for photos and an estimate from a mobile tech, and said it would cover up to $250 for a service call and 1 hour of diagnosis. The local dealer's mobile tech was booked for 3 weeks or more. The same owner later described a letter dated July 18, 2025, for Customer Satisfaction Program 920012, covering Imagine 2910BH trailers produced from July 24, 2020, through June 14, 2023, for frame-web cracks above the spring hangers. The post says the frame failed on July 31, 2025. It does not state the coach's model year. The letter is the owner's account. This page does not have the letter.
Likely causes
The 2025 complaint says the hangers separated and the trailer leaned, which bent the axles. The 2910BH post says the hanger tore out of the I-beam instead of breaking at the weld, and that the frame bent. A later post on that thread says Lippert techs found a crack on the other side as well. Those descriptions are the owners'. They do not show one torn hanger on every 2025 Imagine. The production dates in the owner's letter are July 24, 2020, through June 14, 2023. The post does not say the coach in the photos is a 2025, so those production years are not years on this page.
Common fixes
If a spring hanger has torn out of the frame, or the trailer leans and the axle looks bent, do not tow it. That is what both accounts describe. The 2910BH owner wrote that Grand Design asked for a mobile-tech estimate and offered up to $250 plus 1 hour of diagnosis. The owner wrote that Lippert techs arrived on September 30, 2025, cut off the remaining hangers, straightened the bend, plated the I-beam web, and welded new hangers with V braces on 12-foot lengths of 2-inch square tube, plus cross beams. The owner wrote that the new hangers looked about 1 inch shorter, that the trailer then sat about 1 inch higher, and that it leaned about 1 inch to the door side. The owner guessed the springs had flattened. That repair is the owner's account of a Lippert visit. It is not a driveway procedure. Call Grand Design or the dealer, send photos, and ask whether the visit is warranty before anyone tows the trailer. The 2024 hub-cover report is a different page.
DIY difficulty
Seeing a hanger torn out of the frame is what these owners describe. The plating and the new hangers, in the 2910BH post, were Lippert techs. There is no published procedure here.
Parts needed
No Grand Design part number is named. The complaint describes the spring hangers, the frame, and the axles. The forum post describes plate on the I-beam web, new hangers with V braces, 12-foot 2-inch square tube, cross beams, and new shackle bolts and links.
Warranty notes
This is not a recall. The 2025 complaint does not say who pays. The 2910BH owner wrote that Grand Design offered up to $250 and 1 hour of diagnosis, and that Lippert later did the repair at the house. The owner described Customer Satisfaction Program 920012 from a letter. This page does not have that letter, and the post does not state a model year, so 2020 through 2023 are not years here. A complaint is not a coverage decision for another Imagine. The year on this page is 2025, which is the year the complaint names.
