2022 Alliance RV Paradigm

Paradigm slide ski plates crack and let the room sit low

Owner reportSlides
Symptoms
On the Alliance RV Owners Forum, an owner of a 2022 Paradigm 310RL wrote in August 2022 that two ski plates had failed while full-timing. The plate under the refrigerator slide had already failed once. The other was on the dinette slide. Both were cracked and close to coming off. A separate thread, started in September 2024, is from an owner replacing the front dinette ski on a 2022 310RL. That owner wrote that a factory repair team had already replaced the front ski on the kitchen slide with the thin original style. A third thread is from a buyer of a 2021 Paradigm 390MP. The slide skis were marking the floor, one ski was broken, and the dinette slide dropped too low in the last couple of inches, pinching the flooring and cracking the trim. The buyer later wrote that Alliance tech support said to replace the worn skis and adjust the slides, then trim the fascia only if the room still sat low. A fourth thread is a 2022 Paradigm 340RL. After a living-room slide adjustment, the owner found a gap of about 3/8 inch between the slide floor and the end wall. A later post on that thread says the ski broke apart, the floor dropped with the slide in, and the wood under the ski was rotten so the screws pulled through.
Likely causes
The posts describe plastic ski plates that crack, tear, or shift, so the slide floor sits lower than it should. The 340RL post describes rotten floor under the ski, which let the screws pull out and put the load on the plate. The 390MP buyer was told the worn skis and the slide adjustment were the items to fix, and that long fascia trim was a follow-up if the room still sat low. That is the buyer's account of what tech support said. The threads do not show one cause on every Paradigm.
Common fixes
Look under each slide, with the room partly out, at the ski plates on the outside edge of the floor. A plate that is cracked, shifted, or pulling off is what these owners found before the room pinched the floor. Ask the dealer or Alliance to replace the damaged skis and to adjust the slide so the floor sits flush without chewing the trim. The 2022 310RL kitchen ski had already been replaced once by a factory team, with the same thin plate, and the owner was replacing another ski. Some owners in these threads switched to stainless steel plates they bought or had made. That is their modification, not an Alliance procedure, and this page does not pick a product. If the floor under the ski is soft, the 340RL post says new screws in the old wood will not hold. Have that wood looked at before the next trip.
DIY difficulty
Looking at the skis is something the owners describe doing. Replacing a plate, in these threads, was owner work or a dealer visit. There is no measured procedure here. A soft slide floor is shop work in the 340RL post.
Parts needed
No Alliance part number is named. The posts talk about the original plastic ski, a later thin ski from Alliance, and stainless steel plates owners sourced themselves.
Warranty notes
This is not a recall. The 310RL owner was writing customer service about a second failure. The 2022 310RL kitchen ski had already been replaced by a factory repair team. The posts do not say who paid on every coach. A forum post is not a warranty decision for another Paradigm. Cracked aluminum wheel spokes on some 2021 Paradigms are a different report.
