Recall answer
How to check an RV or tow-vehicle VIN for recalls
Enter the VIN at NHTSA to see whether a recall includes your RV or tow vehicle. Then open the make, model, and year on RigFix to read the campaigns NHTSA has on file.
1. Use the NHTSA VIN tool
Open the NHTSA recalls lookup and enter the VIN from the RV or the tow vehicle. The VIN is on the unit and on the registration. NHTSA is the source that says whether a campaign includes that VIN. RigFix does not look up a VIN.
2. See what RigFix shows
Open the brand list and choose the make, model, and year. The year page lists the official recalls NHTSA has on file for that model year. Grand Design and Ram pages also include owner reports that cite a public source. Other pages list official recalls. A campaign on the year page is not proof your VIN is included.
3. Call the dealer to confirm the repair
If NHTSA shows a recall for your VIN, call a dealer for that brand. Ask them to confirm the campaign and the repair. Call the dealer too if you are not sure the repair was finished. The dealer confirms the work. A model-year page cannot.

- What does RigFix show?
- Each model-year page lists the official recalls NHTSA has on file for that make, model, and year. Grand Design and Ram pages also include owner reports. A model-year campaign is not a VIN match.
- When should I call the dealer?
- Call a dealer for that brand when NHTSA shows a recall for your VIN, or when you are not sure the repair was done. Ask the dealer to confirm the campaign and schedule the repair.
