Reflection slide refrigerator rocks because factory mounts are light
Owner reportSlides
- Symptoms
- On Reflection floorplans with a large 12-volt Furrion refrigerator in a slide, owners say the fridge is held by small clips, a thin wood strip, or a few screws. A 2022 Reflection 303RLS owner wrote that the fridge rocks a few inches under light hand pressure when the slide is in, that the slide box separated at the corner under the fridge, and that three screws the dealer put into the slide box did not stop the rocking. Two 2022 Reflection 260RD owners report the retaining clips and screws pulling out of the wood. One fridge opened in transit and spilled. A dealer rebuilt that sidewall and added a wood block at the top. A 2023 Reflection 303RLS owner found the top wood braces loose and the fridge wobbling forward. A 2022 Reflection 337RLS owner said the fridge shifted and pushed a microwave outlet through the cabinet. The same discussions include a 2025 Solitude 390RK whose fridge rocks 5 to 6 inches at the top, and a 2022 Imagine 23LDE whose owner rebuilt the floor under the fridge. Those are other models with the same kind of mount.
- Likely causes
- The posts describe small clips, short screws into thin wood, and light ceiling braces on a heavy 12-volt refrigerator that sits on rollers. Some owners also found the slide floor dropping or poorly supported under the fridge when the room is in, so the weight bears on a few screws. The threads do not show one missed factory step on every floorplan.
- Common fixes
- Dealers and owners have added a wood block above the fridge, replaced a thin front strip with thicker wood, refit brackets with longer screws, added L-brackets, rebuilt a slide sidewall, or rebuilt the floor under the fridge. Screws in the slide box did not stop the rocking on one 303RLS. If the fridge moves with light hand pressure while the slide is in, the owners say to have it secured before the next trip. A heavy fridge shifting in a slide can damage the room, not only the food inside.
- DIY difficulty
- Several owners left the work with a dealer. Others pulled the fridge and added wood or brackets themselves. A rally tech who ran a screw through a sidewall punctured a cooling line, and that refrigerator had to be replaced. These threads are not a measured procedure.
- Parts needed
- No Grand Design part number is named. Owners mention wood blocks, longer screws, L-brackets, and stronger floor lumber. Grand Design sent one 260RD owner more of the same metal clamps, and those clamps did not hold. One owner wrote that the leveling feet shipped with the Furrion were left off, and that Furrion's guidance calls for L-brackets.
- Warranty notes
- Outcomes in the threads differ. One 2022 Reflection 303RLS owner said an extended service contract did not cover the slide box. Another 2022 Reflection 303RLS owner said Grand Design repaired a detached slide floor under warranty. A 260RD owner opened a Grand Design case, and a dealer rebuilt the sidewall. A different owner wrote that Grand Design and Furrion would not send brackets or a diagram. None of these posts decides a warranty claim on another Reflection.
