2020 Full House frames crack across the beam

- NHTSA complaint ODI 11593419, filed June 10, 2024, on a 2020 DRV Full House, says a visual inspection found a cracked steel frame. The owner wrote that the crack is at a weld and across the vertical beam, that the left side goes all the way across, and that the right side is about 1.5 inches. The owner wrote that a crack through the frame could let the trailer break away from the tow vehicle without the hitch coming apart. Complaint ODI 11590017, filed May 21, 2024, also on a 2020 Full House, says only that the Lippert frame was cracked. A 2019 Full House complaint, ODI 11568542, filed January 29, 2024, says the manufacturer is aware of frame cracks and bad welds on DRV fifth wheels from about 2014 onward and asks for an investigation. That filing does not describe a crack the owner found on that coach.
- Likely causes
- The June 2024 complaint says the steel frame is cracked at a weld and across the vertical beam, farther on the left than on the right. The May 2024 complaint says the Lippert frame is cracked and gives no measurement. The 2019 filing asks for an investigation and does not describe a crack on that trailer. The posts do not show one cracked frame on every 2020 Full House.
- Common fixes
- Look at the frame rails, the welds, and the vertical beam if you can see them. A crack that runs all the way across one side is what the June 2024 complaint describes. If you find a crack in the frame, do not treat the trailer as ready to tow. Neither 2020 complaint describes a finished repair. Call the dealer or DRV with photos and ask whether the visit is warranty before the next trip.

The 2019 filing asks NHTSA for an investigation and does not describe a crack found on that coach, so 2019 is not a year on this page. A complaint is not a coverage decision for another Full House. The year on this page is 2020, which is the year both crack complaints name.
