A model year on this page is not proof your VIN is included. ## What to check on your rig NHTSA's component field on these campaigns includes BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA, BACK OVER PREVENTION:DISPLAY FUNCTION, and BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. The newest campaign, 26V-531, says: A rearview camera image that fails to display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Read the campaign that names your rig. A model year on this list is not proof your VIN is included. ## 26V-531 The rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
