Each report cites a public complaint, bulletin, forum thread, or manufacturer page. It is not a failure rate, a diagnosis, or a repair procedure. **Owner report** · Slides · 2019 Jayco fifth wheels Pinnacle ## Symptoms Jayco standard repair procedure 22-043, published January 2022 and revised February 2022, covers a crack at the front bottom corner of the front slide, on the door side or the off-door side. The affected units it names are North Point, Pinnacle, Eagle, and Eagle HT fifth wheels before model year 2021. On the Jayco Owners Forum, an owner of a 2020 Pinnacle 32RLTS wrote in December 2024 that a crack opened on the driver's side at the front bottom corner of the bedroom slide, and that the bottom nose trim had dropped half an inch. A second 2020 Pinnacle owner on that thread wrote that a crack about 1.5 inches long showed up in the same lower corner around the first of December 2024. NHTSA complaint ODI 11576070, on a 2019 Pinnacle, says the sidewall fractured where the pin box meets the fifth-wheel frame, a dealer called it a known issue, and the dealer cited the same bulletin, NHTSA ID 10208077. Complaint ODI 11643710, on a 2020 Pinnacle, says frame welds cracked at the front overhang where the pin box attaches, and the exterior fiberglass cracked with them. Complaint ODI 11570190, on a 2020 Pinnacle 36SSWS, describes the same overhang cracking and says the trim separating from the siding was the first sign. Complaint ODI 11657108, on a 2020 Pinnacle 37MDQS, describes frame cracks. Complaint ODI 11635523, also on a 2020 Pinnacle, describes body cracking the owner believes is from the frame. This site's Pinnacle years before 2021 are 2018, 2019, and 2020. The 2025 Pinnacle is not in the procedure. ## Likely causes Procedure 22-043 is Jayco's repair for that slide-corner crack. It tells the technician to measure upper-deck flex and to call Jayco customer service if the flex is more than 1/4 inch. The 2019 complaint says a dealer traced the sidewall fracture to the way the frame was built at the pin box. The 2020 complaints describe cracked welds at the front overhang. A reply on the 2020 Pinnacle thread, which does not name a floorplan, calls the crack a stress crack from the missing stress joint. The posts do not show one missed weld on every Pinnacle. ## Common fixes Procedure 22-043 walks a technician through removing the bedroom slide, opening the fiberglass skin, welding aluminum gussets into the wall, and installing longer screws in the gooseneck steel angle. If the front off-door I-beam measures 8 inches, the procedure adds a steel tube and a C-channel. It says not to add that tube or C-channel on Eagle or Eagle HT fifth wheels. A 10-inch I-beam does not get that tube. Pinnacle labor in the procedure is not to exceed 48 hours, with extra hours if the tube or propane-tank gussets are needed. The 2020 Pinnacle thread includes a reply that a factory repair removed part of the sidewall, added gussets, and reinforced the wall framing, and that a second repair held for more than 30,000 miles. That reply does not name the model. The 2019 complaint says the bulletin repair was not covered. The 2020 37MDQS complaint says Jayco declined while the owner was still inside the 3-year structural warranty. Call Jayco customer service or a dealer with the VIN and photos of the corner and of any trim that has dropped. This is not a driveway weld. ## DIY difficulty Not a DIY job in these sources. Procedure 22-043 says to read it through and to call Jayco customer service with questions. It includes welding and fiberglass work. ## Parts needed Procedure 22-043 names steel gusset 0326331, aluminum gussets 0501848, a fiberglass or Filon panel, sidewall decals, Sikaflex, and 4-inch screws 0403478, among other pieces. It says the tube, C-channel, and propane-tank parts are ordered only after inspection. ## Warranty notes This is not a recall. The procedure says Jayco's obligation under its limited warranty is to repair or replace defective materials or workmanship when Jayco decides the work is Jayco's responsibility. It says a field remedy is not an extension of the warranty. Complaint ODI 11576070 says the 2019 repair was not covered. Complaint ODI 11657108 says Jayco declined a 2020 37MDQS while the owner was still in the 3-year structural warranty. Complaint ODI 11635523 says Jayco declined because the coach was out of warranty. A complaint is not a coverage decision for another Pinnacle.
