# 2022 North Point pulls left and the weight stickers disagree

Owner reports are not official NHTSA recalls. Each report cites a public complaint, bulletin, forum thread, or manufacturer page. It is not a failure rate, a diagnosis, or a repair procedure.

## Symptoms

NHTSA complaint ODI 11495085, filed November 28, 2022, on a 2022 Jayco North Point, says the trailer pulled to the left. The owner wrote that a dealer confirmed the axles were misplaced and needed to be replaced, that the trailer was not repaired, and that the failure mileage was about 2,000. Complaint ODI 11623373, filed November 4, 2024, on a 2022 North Point 382FLRB, describes a different problem on the weight stickers. The owner wrote that the VIN sticker lists a GVWR of 16,995 pounds and the yellow stickers list 19,995 pounds, that each axle is rated 7,400 pounds, and that loading the 5,084 pounds the yellow stickers suggest would not match those axle ratings. The owner wrote that the dealer said the stickers were likely wrong, that the dealer would contact Jayco, and that no follow-up came. On the Jayco Owners Forum, a thread opened March 25, 2021, describes a North Point whose left-rear tire tilted in at the top after potholes on I-75. The opening post does not state a model year. The owner wrote that the camper was 3 months old.

## Likely causes

The November 2022 complaint says a dealer called the axles misplaced. It does not include a measurement of where the axles sat. The sticker complaint compares two GVWR numbers and a 7,400-pound axle rating. That comparison is the owner's. The forum owner wrote that the wheel looked straight when the trailer was jacked up, leaned when it rolled forward, and straightened when it rolled back, and that Dexter shipped a new axle after reading the serial number. Those are three different accounts. They do not show one misplaced axle on every 2022 North Point.

## Common fixes

If the trailer pulls to one side, or a tire leans at the top, stop and look before the next mile. The November 2022 complaint says the dealer wanted the axles replaced and that the trailer was not repaired. The forum owner wrote that Jayco said to have it towed, that a low-boy quote for about 90 miles was $5,000, and that Dexter then shipped a replacement axle for a shop to install in the parking lot. That tow quote and that axle shipment are that owner's account. The sticker complaint does not describe a repair. Weigh the coach, and read the VIN sticker next to the yellow sticker, before you load to the higher number. Call the dealer with photos and ask whether the visit is warranty. The 2024 wheels and axles report, and the bedroom-slide crack report, are different pages.

## DIY difficulty

Looking at how the tires sit is something the forum owner describes. Axle replacement, in that post, was a shop after Dexter shipped the axle. There is no published procedure here.

## Parts needed

No Jayco part number is named. The November 2022 complaint describes the axles. The sticker complaint names a 7,400-pound axle rating and the two GVWR stickers. The forum post describes a Dexter axle identified by its serial number, and a tire the dealer was going to ask Jayco to replace.

## Warranty notes

This is not a recall. The November 2022 complaint says the trailer was not repaired and that the owner was waiting on the manufacturer. The sticker complaint says the dealer agreed the stickers were likely wrong and that no follow-up arrived. The forum owner wrote that Dexter shipped an axle and that the dealer would ask Jayco for a tire because the camper was 3 months old. A reply on that thread says a friend with a 2020 North Point received an axle recall notice and that the serial numbers were not in the group. The reply does not name a campaign number. A complaint is not a coverage decision for another North Point. The year on this page is 2022, which is the year both complaints name. The forum coach is described only as 3 months old in March 2021.
